Most people get excited because this means you get to have the weekend off and get to wind down and relax. As for me, my work week is just beginning. I usually work Friday, Saturdays and Sundays as well as a couple of times throughout the week depending on the week. While I would be excited to take the weekend to relax, I am also excited to be able to go to work and to make some money. Making money gets me excited for life because it helps me save for my future dreams. One of which is to move to Oregon!
Recently I took a personal finance class through The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If any of you are able to attend one of these classes I highly suggest it! It has helped me learn so much about finances and how to better control my money. If you don't tell your money where to go, it will just go. And that is one thing that I have found so true. With my bank I am able to have many subdivisions of my checking account so I have it split up into bills, gas, food, and spending. After I delegate my money to bills, paying off debt and saving for emergencies and future expenses, I then separate it into the remaining categories. This has seriously saved my life! Before I was paying the minimum payments on my credit cards and then spending the rest wherever and whenever as long as I had money left in my account. I always felt financially stressed. Now I feel so much more comfortable knowing that I can actually completely pay off my debt all while saving money for emergencies as well as future expenses such as Oregon. I live so much more at peace knowing that I don't have to worry about my finances.
Yesterday I had an amazing day. It started out with my getting lunch with some of my closest friends at this amazing hot dog restaurant called J-Dawgs and then we went shopping at the mall. I got these super cute boots that were on clearance and I am so excited for them. Bath and Body Works was also having their semi annual sale and everything was like 50-75% off retail prices. So I got a super yummy smelling body spray, as well as two amazing candles. One of the candles I got smells exactly like when I went to Hawaii and it makes me feel like I am actually there!
Then I went up to Salt Lake City with my boyfriend and we walked around temple square. The LDS temple in Salt Lake is seriously so beautiful. It looks like a castle, the architecture is so beautiful and the spirit that is felt there is so overwhelming. We then went to the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial building and it has a beautiful look out of Salt Lake City. The twinkling city lights at night were so mesmerizing. We then went and got dinner to go to enjoy a nice evening at my house. We then ended the night by watching the movie, In Time. I'm a sucker for Justin Timberlake.
Well... I must be going to get ready for work. I am so excited about what this year has in store and I feel like its starting out just right.
