Good Morning and Welcome to my new blog!
The sun is shining and the birds are singing, the weather is warm and the snow is melting. It feels like spring time here in Utah.
While we are entering this new year I am full of excitement! I feel that 2019 is full of opportunity for growth and for many changes. I have been feeling inspired lately to make a blog and to just write out whatever feelings come to me, so what better way than to do it while ringing in the new year?
What are some of the goals that you have for 2019? Is there anything that you have been desiring to do or to become, but have been too scared to try? Because I can assure you that I am right there with you!
I haven't written out a set of New Years Resolutions, because I never seem to stay consistent with them and I always seem to give up a couple of weeks into the year. This year I do have some thoughts and some goals that I wish to try and attempt and I'll keep you updated on my progress as I go about this journey called life.
For this new year, I have decided to make a better goal for myself than just, "I wanna go to the gym more." Because I know that not only will that slip between my fingers and I will soon fall back into my old ways, but also because my hopes for myself go much more in depth than just that. I want to have a healthier me. I want to be able to listen to what my body is telling me. I want to focus on what foods I like to eat and I want to learn how to cook them in a healthier way for myself. I want to exercise more, but not to lose weight or to look a certain way, but so that I my body can feel good. When I work out and am eating healthy my body sings to me because its so happy! Not only do I begin to feel good about myself, but I get better rest, I gain more energy and all around grow in positivity. Along with that, I want to care for my mental self, and to realize when I need to take a step back from the world and to care for myself. Self care is one of the most important things that you can do! You need to listen to what your body and mind are telling you and to take the steps and actions you need to to fulfill those needs in your life. One thing that 2018 has taught me is that its okay to take a step back and to put your own needs first sometimes.
I am inspired to look for the positivity in each day, I want to look for the happiness and in order to do that I need to be cleansed of all my negativity. It begins by reconciling any strifes you have with yourself and with others around you. You need to remember to care for yourself and that positivity comes from self love. I wish to increase my gratitude and to look for the small and simple things in life that bring me joy and happiness.
I am excited to progress with school this year and to see what doors and opportunities open up for me! I want to take the mistakes from last year and to learn from them. I want to look at what worked and what didn't work for me and to see how I can improve myself.
For Christmas this year, my best friend Hayley gave me a new set of watercolor and acrylic paints and I am so stoked to play around with them! I have always wanted to paint, but never knew where to start. To be honest, art is something that has always scared me. I think with age, I have learned to stay within the lines and to make everything perfect and art is all about creativity and breaking the rules. I am excited to get out of my comfort zone and try new things!
I feel so good about this upcoming year, because for once in my life I feel like I am breaking free of whatever shell I have felt captive to. I feel for the first time, that this is my life and that I have the agency to choose what path I want to run, jump and dance my way through. I feel empowered with so much energy and raw excitement for this year and I can't wait to see what happens!
For those of you who don't know me, I would love to introduce myself...
My name is Annecia (pronounced ah-neesh-ah) and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in a beautiful city called Alpine, Utah. It is a little touch of heaven nested within the corner of three mountains. I grew up exploring the canyons and swimming through the lakes of one of natures most beautiful playgrounds. I have lived in Florida and California, where the sunshine awakens my soul and the ocean calls to me. (Moana anyone?) I graduated High School, received an Associated Degree from Utah Valley University, and earned my Nursing Assisting Certification. It is my dream to do anything medical in the future. I love the science aspect of everything medical as well as helping and serving those around me. I am continuing my education beginning on Monday by taking Microbiology and Molecular Biology. The path that I have chosen is to get a Bachelors Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. (but we will see where life takes me) I love to dance and listen to music. I love to paint, draw and to write. I love to longboard, snowboard, and wakeboard. I love batman and dinosaurs, because no matter how old I grow to be, you can never tell me to stop being a kid at heart. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I love our Savior! I have an amazing boyfriend, who I have been dating for a little over a year now, and he is the most loving and selfless person I have ever met. I have an amazing family beginning with my Mom and Dad and then I have three brothers and one sister and I am the baby of the family.
So there you have it. Welcome to my crazy life and I'm eager for you to join me along my journey!
